Due to access restrictions to the site, we ended up having to band again today at Miller Pond (only 6 days after we banded there on July 5; we're supposed to have at least a 7 days in between banding at the same place). Birds were very active early in the morning during 66 degree temperatures, but slowed down quick as it became quite hot. Another Bewick's Wren (the 3rd we've caught here) was this morning's highlight, in my opinion. Total of 29 birds of 11 species

A very nasty storm is passing us over right now, with winds of up to 70 mph. A tornado from it was spotted in St. Robert, a little town about 4 miles away, a few minute ago. According to the weather channel, this storm can produce golf ball sized hail (although I haven't seen hail of any size so far). It looks as if it will blow over quick though.
